What the evidence says

GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide studied in wound repair, extracellular-matrix signaling, inflammation, and skin remodeling. Those mechanisms are biologically interesting, but cell and animal findings do not establish a visible anti-aging benefit in people.[1][2]

Cosmetic reviews describe small studies reporting changes in wrinkles, skin density, laxity, or collagen-related markers after topical copper-peptide products. The underlying trials are limited, often old, formulation-specific, and much less rigorous than the evidence base for sunscreen or prescription retinoids.[1][2]

No controlled evidence shows that subcutaneous GHK-Cu improves systemic aging, recovery, cognition, hair growth, or longevity. FDA materials list non-injectable GHK-Cu as under evaluation for possible compounding use after the injectable nomination was withdrawn; nomination or committee review is not drug approval.[4][3][2]

A registered clinical trial is evaluating a topical GHK-Cu formulation, illustrating that product-specific human evidence is still being built. Until adequately reported trials exist, claims should remain limited to uncertain cosmetic potential rather than treatment or rejuvenation.[5][4]
